I wanted to share these adorable family photos I took a few weeks back of the 'K' Family. Little Andrew just turned one and mom and dad wanted to capture a few photos of him at this age along with some family including their cute little dog Ava. Little Andrew's dad is leaving for Iraq in just a few weeks for an entire year. I can't even imagine how hard it would be to not see your little one for an entire year. I have to admit I got a little choked up while editing their photos :) I want to say thank you for doing what you do for all of us and our country. This family is SO adorable, you can just see the love between them....

I have been thinking a lot lately about finding balance in my life and streamlining my business so it and my personal life have a little more separation. Don't get me wrong, I love, love, LOVE my job and I am so thankful for all of my clients and the opportunities that have been put before me. I do find myself working... a lot. When I started out in this business my goal was always to do this as a part-time job and somewhere along the line that idea got lost and I started spending every extra moment on the computer.
I have decided to make some changes and I am hoping they are going to be for the good! I have changed my pricing so that is a simple one fee system, both the session and high-resolution disc of 30-40 images are included in one price. My new pricing will be as follows:
Children's sessions: $300
Family sessions (includes individual shots of each child): $350
Newborn sessions (includes parent shots, siblings are $50 each): $450
*$25 discount for all returning clients!
CD's will include a tri-fold filled with valuable information on how to get the most out of your photos and where to have them printed.

I will still be holding child, newborn and family sessions on Wednesday and Fridays at either 10am or 11am, I will also be doing one family or child session outdoors on Tuesday nights throughout the summer. Weekends are booked until October, since it is the height of the wedding season!
I am going to be focusing all my time and attention on editing and providing great customer service and attention.

Just getting a quick sneak peek up for Abby's mom, this is from her newborn session yesterday. Although she was pretty bright eyed for most of the session, we did get manage some pretty cute sleepy shots when she did fall asleep. Thanks for coming by the studio, it was great to meet your new addition!

Last night I had some help from my partner in crime (Angie!) to take the boys photos. I have not set aside the time to get a shot of them together since Christmas, shame on me! It was so nice to have a helping hand since I swear taking your own kids photos is ridiculously stressful. It does make me realize the planning and stress that parents experience before they come see me for photos! You have no idea what went into getting this one photo: planning outfits/location, buying outfits, trip to target for bribes (candy, stickers AND a new toy), hurry up eat dinner, baths, put on one set of clothing and pack the rest to bring with along with props and all my camera gear... yikes! Oh yeah... THAT's why I haven't got a shot of them together since Christmas!

I am loving these little albums! Sold in sets of three, these mini- accordian albums are a perfect keepsake from your session. You can keep one album to yourself and hand the other two off to the grandparents! The closure is magnetic and also allows the album to be stuck to the fridge for display. The accordian pages are linen texture and double-sided.
Just taking a little break from editing tonight to show you these cute albums.. now back to work!
