One Frigid January Day

My husband is into extreme sports, pretty much anything that poses a good chance of getting injured he is all in. About a month ago he found out there were tryouts at the excel for the Redbull Crashed Ice competition and he wanted to see if he would make the cut. Well of course I made fun of him and told him there are going to be 20 year old's out there that are in much better shape, I think he took this as a bet. Sure enough he made the first round of elimination and he actually placed 9th out of over 100 skaters. Today was the start of the Redbull competition and of course it was also the coldest day this winter so far. We spent a good 5 hours outside today in the single digit temps and wind but it was all worth it to see my hubby make it to the next round. Tomorrow night he will be competing with people from around the world, there will be 128 of them and only half will make it to Saturday night's final competition where they expect a turnout of around 75,000 people.
