Dress the part | Minneapolis Children's Photographer

Do you want to make your session stand out from the crowd? Dressing the part is so important when planning your session. If you are looking for outfit ideas let me know I would be happy to help you pick out great combinations. Some general guidelines are:
  • Don't put everyone in matching outfits, try picking 2-3 colors and having everyone in coordinating items
  • Add accessories, a hat, tutu, tie, headband,scarf- check out www.etsy.com (careful it's addicting!)
  • Avoid logos on shirts (ie: old navy, spiderman etc)
  • Try to wear clothing with texture to it, sweater add depth where as a t-shirt looks flat and basic
  • For babies under a year I love a long sleeve onesie and headband/hat, or just a diaper cover
  • Newborn sessions, birthday suit is best or a little diaper cover
  • Check out stores like: jcrew kids (crewcuts), gapkids/ baby, children's place and mini-boden
  • Avoid your 'Sunday Best' you do not have to be super dressed up, casual is always better for kiddos
  • Jewel tones, earth tones and bright colors look great in photographs
Most importantly, be you! If you wear something that you don't feel comfortable in, you won't feel good about the end result. Now I will leave you with this adorable sister and brother session, they have such great style!
