Connections | Monticello Family Photographer

Oh how I miss blogging! I love giving clients sneak previews of their images through the blog because it helps bring the whole story together. Meet the N family and little 3 month old Eddie. We thought for sure the rain was going to stop us from taking any outdoor photos but it let up just in time and the sun even peeked out. I adore little Eddie's outfit, he is a trendy guy already. I love capturing little in between moments during photo sessions, when the family didn't necessarily know I was taking their photo. I can't help but smile when I am editing photos like these :) Enjoy your preview N family, can't wait to see Eddie back at 6 months!

This weekend kicks off my busy fall season and I have to say it was a great start. I got to meet with so many wonderful families and capture some priceless moments. I wish so bad I could blog all the great photos I got this weekend but for now all I got is one adorable shot...

What is 'Custom Photography?'

Have you ever wondered what goes into being a portrait photographer? Well, if you have there is a great website you should check out: www.professionalchildphotographer.com This website explains why custom photography is different than chain studios and why it costs more. I believe that if you value having portraits that are a work of art, that you will proudly display in your home, you should make the investment of custom photography. I want my photos to be a keepsake for you and not a print in a frame that gets replaced with a new one every year. Now I will leave you with adorable Amara....

First family session back from maternity leave! I got to start off my busy fall season by meeting this wonderful family... are they not the cutest?! I have been collecting props while on leave so I was pretty excited when Kimberly wanted to use my red sofa for their family's photos. I love the way she did a great job of coordinating everyone's outfits so that they went so well with the sofa and location we used. I am so happy to be back in the swing of things and can't wait to meet all these great families I have coming up.

I love these first two....

gorgeous family...

tickle time!
and..... all done :)

planes, trains and 'horseys' | Minneapolis Children's Photographer

My baby is officially two as of Friday and as I went through his closet today packing up his last pair of 18 month jeans I got a little bit sad. Days are going by so fast and every once in a while I will be busy cleaning up the house or tending to the million things I have to get done each day and Collin will catch the corner of my eye and make me look twice... I stop and think to myself- when did you get so big?! This is why photos are so extremely important to me, I need to capture him and keep him in a bottle so that I can hold on to his little 'toddlerness' forever. Photos make me happy and that is why I have them displayed all over my house, I like to be reminded each day of the blessings I have been given.
